Visual Afrofuturism

Beyond the Black Panther: Vision of Afrofuturism in American Comics will continue to be a “current” exhibit at MSU Museum through the summer. I’ve done quite a few lectures about the exhibit. I will likely do a couple of more during the summer to support the exhibit. If you have not had the chance to see it, please check it out. Comics were at the heart of the definition of Afrofuturism when it was coined in the early 1990s, so this exhibit is inspired by that historical fact but geared toward bringing black-created and black-drawn comic books to the forefront that you do not know. Check out my discussion of Afrofuturism and comics below!
